    Check this out?

    http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...hlight=storage

    My 'collection' is mainly stored on Benno IKEA racks, but that's just really a backup these days. The music I play on a regular basis normally comes from one of these;

    At some point I intend to adopt the method used by Alex and go fully over to file based audio.

    Surely there's only one way - on shelves in alphabetical order by artist, each artist's recordings in chronological sequence...............

    Alex' solution seems a sensible one though

    I store them in a hard drive and put them away in a cupboard.

    These are the IKEA Benno towers Martin mentioned, each tower takes around 180 CD's;

    They are around £30.00 normally, but I think they were on offer at £15.00 recently? I need some more, as this is just my rock/pop, my classical collection is a mess and currently in large zippered storage cases, so finding stuff is a mare! My next job is to rip them all to FLAC files and store them on my music server (which is another work in progress!). My 100 or so remaining LP's are just in a box, as I don't have a TT at the moment.

    Yes, the Beech ones which mine are (and yours, by the look of them). They were £15 each two weekends ago and I'm now kicking myself for only buying two more

    Always the way Martin A bit like a great pair of shoes, by the time you realise how comfortable they are & want a second pair they are no longer made

    DIY for me, it's a pity those racks of yours aren't 2 or 3 times as wide
    Bests, Mark
