Squeezebox Touch Powersupply

It was my birthday on Monday.... I dont want to talk about how old I am

The only upside is that I've bought myself a Squeezebox touch and Im kind of excited about getting some good sounds from a few FLAC files. Im also planning some value for money upgrades just for fun

I have a couple of DACs a can use so no problem there. But Im also wondering about a low cost upgrade to the basic power supply. I aint springing for £200 of Teddy Touch supply so I had a google and found this from Russ Andrews:

But for what you get it too seems a bit steep. Has anyone any experience with alternatives?
Any suggestions valued and explored!

I have a home made supply based on the John Swenson design that does improve the performance of the Touch.

Oh dear.

Make/buy a non rip off linear PSU.

Absolutely does.
I've heard the linear PSU Ali uses in my own system.
I was sceptical too...but it was an obvious improvement from the stock supply.

I always trust my ears rather than what I read, and in this case the Touch can be made to sound better with a linear supply.
Theres more to it than just switching vs linear of course..but
it DOES respond well to a good PSU.

Well it's actually a switching supply, but a good one. I managed to liberate a few from my last place of work. They are nemic lambdas, and I got about half a dozen at various voltages, luckily two are what I need, one being 5v which runs the Touch, and another at 15v which runs my two Bantam Golds, which again was obviously better than the stock wallwart.
