The ebay boxes look a lot deeper than the Sansui's.

I thought they were Sansui 'SP50' in new cabs but as you say they do look too deep..

yes i must agree, there isn't much worth bidding on, and hardly any bargins, even cheap system components are fetching good money.

yes i think the sellers have wised up, they're using words like "vintage" and "rare" to discribe stuff that's just "old" and "crap", and for one reason or another buyers are beleaving the hype.

I saw a Cambridge Audio A/V amp fetch more on ebay secondhand than you could buy it brand new from Richer Sounds and then there was a tenner on top for p&p, there are some real muppets out there

moronic overbidding on used equipment isn't uncommon on fleabay - it happens all the time with certain photographic gear. Maybe they don't do the proper research, or maybe they get carried away, but why pay more than you can buy new for something second hand that doesn't come with a guarantee.

It's interesting to see how some people get away with stuff on fleabay - he's blatantly requested 'cash only' at the bottom of the listing. I've had listings pulled countless times for doing that - I guess i must have my cards marked.

Good luck to him, I can't stand the way ebay have tried to enforce Paypal on everyone.

No idea what these sound like but they even more mimilistic than mine and if you have the right room and can her before you buy might be a bargain

Bidded for one of these to replace my old one - Sony CDP 761E



£10 delivery so I was prepeared to pay up to £40 plus the delivery but figured I would get it for about £25 - it went for £50! - for a budget Sony CDP from 1995 that initially retailed at £250? - now I like the sound of these players that is why I want one but I'm amazed that anyone else does.

I bought my old one, brand new for £110 in 1997, including delivery - allowing for inflation and assuming it still worked it would actually have appreciated in value....nuts
