The platter is the mod which makes the high quality of sound we heard achievable. Matching it up with the right power supply was the natural thing to do being as we had three different ones between us.

As for the benefits of the new platter, the proof was in the listening. I doubt that all that we heard was a result of just high platter mass, the material that Mike New uses contributes to its high degree of 'deadness'.
