just put my sample request into Claritycap......hopefully they ship to the USA
I've been very happy with the sound of my Muse caps thus far. So much so, I listed my modified opamp boards for sale.
If anyone state side needs a few 4.7uf Nichicon Muse caps to try this out, send me an email and I can mail them out to you.

I'm AndrewR.
Right now my blog has been updated with the latest on my passive mod quest (see here http://www.hifiwatcher.com/?p=723&preview=true). I'm back on with the Black Gates, but would also recommend the MUSE ES (probably need a good 3-4 weeks for their performance to stabilise.
Polypropylenes are likely to be even better but haven't yet tried them out in the Beresford.

Thanks for that Ali, I'll try a few different "normal" caps first before I bring out the big guns!
Andrew, that link was very informative, cheers.
I ordered a couple of the MUSE ES caps...and thought I might as well try a few others as they are so cheap.
So a cap bake off coming up soon.
I ordered..
47uF 6.3V Nichicon ES
47uF 10V Nichicon FG
47uF 50V Nichicon KZ
47uF 25V Nichicon KZ
and
47uF 10V Elna Silmic II.
Nick over at Hifi collective reckoned the Slimic's were the best sounding, so should be interesting to see how they are compared to the ones folk on here have tried.
Will take a while though, as I want to give each one time to settle in.
Gaz.

Still think the Clarity Caps will better all of those, but YMMV.
Obviously down to personal taste but I've tried both Nichicon FG and SilmicII, I prefer the grey Rubycons over both those .
Its worth trying these different types out yourself though![]()
Cheers,
Leo
What no Sanyo Os-cons?Actually i'm being serious, Os-cons should sound better than the above as they have a solid electrolyte rather than liquid. Super low ESR over a really wide bandwidth & though it's not relevant a massive ripple current capability.
By the way, don't bother checking out the 47uf 25V KZ nono.gif Go straight for the 50V version as this will give you better performance due to lower losses![]()
