Proper stormy weather here now. Wind blasting away and horizontal rain!

Yeah, just had a horrible drive back along the A14 from Bury St Edmunds, sounds like I got back in the nick of time as apparently a tree is blocking the road now, amongst several others, and the main railway line to London. I didn't think we were supposed to get it too bad here, so must be awful of you're more in the firing line than we are. Supposedly 13.5c according to my car temperature gauge but it feels a lot colder!

It's got a bit lighter now. Not going to pay to have lights on in the daytime. That's like having heating on in the summer, or buying bottled water.

Well, we've just had a 3 hour power cut, but back on now. Tree down snapped a power line - often happens out here in the boonies with a bit of wind!

Had a look at the radar for tomorrow and there's a shit-ton of rain coming over here, doesn't end until tomorrow night. Already we've had almost 24 hours continual.

If this doesn't bring back the flood at the end of the street then they must have finally fixed the problem after about 20 years.

Having an unscheduled break from the rain right now but it's due to return about 0900 and last all day. Plus gale force winds.

The sky was red at dawn, always a bad sign.

I was thinking the same thing when I looked out the window this morning.

How bad is your flooding likely to get? Will the corner shop be running a ferry service? Will your east European neighbours be out fishing for their lunch? Or is it just wellies time?

Not so bad here, the water will just run down the hill till it hits the canal. So business as usual for our Polskis.

10C, dry and bright.................for now. What will happen later is anybody's guess!

Last night's wind has stripped a patch of roof felt off the larger cabin in the back garden, the roof wasn't one of my efforts. It would have survived if I'd done it. I'll fix it later! (properly )

According to the forecast it is going to rain heavily all day today. However looking out of the window, it is just dull without rain - yet.

    .
Went round the Sainsbury at 0800 and there's no flooding at all at the end of the street. Not even a puddle. Used to be after a lot of rain like we've had that it would be right across the road and up onto the pavement. So looks like they've finally sorted it.

Back to raining again now, just waiting on the gale force winds.
