Lol, looks like I'm the only one with a wife who likes cooking (as an Italian, it was in the wedding contract)! She finds it rather therapeutic. Plus, both of us were brought up in families who cooked fresh food from scratch. My mum was a great cook, on a par with Del, and so that's what I've always been used to.
In that respect, food is a big part of our day: what we're having for lunch and dinner, and it is planned, prepared for and very much looked forward to!
Italians LIVE to eat, not eat to live. We never see food as simply sustenance. Brits are, erm, a wee bit different...
