Not sure I would include that Guns & Roses. The band did ok, but I remember thinking when it was released, Oh dear Axl, too much drugs... the only way he could have made it worse would be to duet with Mariah Carey.

According to Wikipedia, at least 600 artists have had a go at covers of Dylan songs over the years. There is ample scope for this because Dylan has a poor singing voice. However his genius lays in the poetry of his lyrics, and as long as that is understood and respected, then there is ample opportunity for others to make decent fist of a cover.

For me the most obvious example is Hendrix's version of 'All Along the Watchtower'. As for other covers, we'll there is the Byrds's efforts, and of cour⁸se Joan Baez with her LP of Dylan covers: 'Any Day Now'.

As an aside, to celebrate Dylan's 80th birthday Rolling Stone magazine compiled a list of the top 80 covers of his songs:

    https://uk.search.yahoo.com/yhs/sear...5-48~&fr=crmas.

Many of the entries are new to me, and there are some surprises, but you may find the article interesting.

Right then, I thought I would give this a go. I only bought it because it's Bryan Ferry, and it was only a quid. But then never played it. So here goes...

Just had a call, to remind us about visiting Anita's dad, so I'm out the door now. But hopefully speak some more later.

It's not a flying visit. I'm back, but due to heath issues from long Covid, I'll be posting less frequently than before.
