Sneaker Pimps 'Splinter'
The band followed success on both sides of the Atlantic and a Gold-selling debut album by jettisoning their female singer and getting one of the blokes in the background to step up and front them. Ironic album cover and career suicide ensued. A great pity since I rate Splinter as a lost treasure if you like end of the millennium trip-hoppish indie.
"Becoming X" is a great album, but I never followed them past that. Just as well by the looks of it. I think it'd be better to follow Kelli Ali's career than Sneaker Pimps'.
