I used to have 'Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic'. It didn't last long.

Only just discovered these, they’ve been around making albums for 15 years so don’t know how that happened as they are right up my street.

Submotion Orchestra - Passed Me By (2026)

Interesting back story to how they came about - the 7 piece band “came together after an Arts Council-funded event to mix electronic and classical music at York Minster in 2009.”

Norman Records (positive) review of this their 6th album closes with “For fans of Bonobo, Cinematic Orchestra, Bicep and Portishead.” A big “yes” to all of those,

Must be a lucky charm as two goals gone in since I put it on. [emoji846]

Not sure how they wedge Bicep (like) and Bonobo (nah ah) in the same bag, but I'll give it a go.

Everything But The Girl - Eden (1984)

I didn’t buy this at the time, I think it was Amplified Heart 10 years later (because of the Todd Terry remix of Missing) that got me into them, and I was expecting much more electronica, but as the years have rolled on I probably enjoy the early stuff just as much if not more than the later electronic biased music. Anyway, perfect for a Sunday.
