Back in early 2000 I found myself moving back in with my parents at aged 31, leaving my hifi, all my records and CDs in the marital home. I bought a Sony Discman from Dixons and about 6 CDs from HMV - the two above and this one included:

Tina Cousins- Killing Time (1999)



They have a very special place in my memory, as the soundtrack to a difficult but also transformative time of my life.

Two of the others I can remember will have to wait for another night - Leftfield - Rhythm and Stealth and Melanie C - Northern Star. Both classics (to me!) in very different ways. I ended up playing some of them on Mum & Dads mini system, and subsequently my Mum ended up buying both Rhythm and Stealth and also Leftism by Leftfield for herself!

I liked all the Simple Minds albums with Michael MacNeil on keyboards. When he left they became focused on big guitar chords and lost their character IMHO.

If I had to choose then New Gold Dream would be my favourite.

Totally with you on Leftfield. Pretty much the same for the Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, The Orb, Orbital etc.
