Just seen that there’s a new Eels album out in October (I know Mike’s a fan) and by this comment in the email which made me smile:

“Reflecting on the 16th studio album, frontman E says: “All of this will be forgotten. Every joy, accomplishment and hardship will one day become so irrelevant it will be as if none of it occurred. But as the great philosopher of our times, Cookie Monster once said: “Me no cry because cookie is finished. Me smile because cookie happened.” This will all be forgotten. But isn’t it still a beautiful thing that it happened?””

Quite possible, seen her a few times but haven't played her much since 2018, but played her a lot back in 2013 and 14. Last.fm tells me I played this album the most;



I think she got a Grammy nomination for Paradise Hotel - she was very critical of George Bush. She's a bit like Lucinda Williams, but without the raspy voice and a bit more folky.
