I do remember now you mention it. My daughter is a big fan, and she couldn’t believe I had her early CDs in the collection - so of course she snaffled them for herself! She is great, but like a lot of artists I have sort of lost touch with her output the last decade or so, added a load to Tidal to try and get up to date.

I tried Lucinda William’s latest when it came out but it’s not saved in my favourites so I am guessing she wasn’t to my taste but will try that one later.

Radio Paradise just played She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult so now it has to be this - loud, so I can hear it in the garden (“no Sue, I’ve been weeding all day, not been sat in the living room listening to music at all, honest…!”)

A couple of earlier posts reminded me of this album, which I got a few years ago, but wasn't too keen on. Gets plenty of positive reviews, so I guess it's just me. Anyway, I thought I'd revisit, and no, I'm still not feeling it.

I tried Lucinda William’s latest when it came out but it’s not saved in my favourites so I am guessing she wasn’t to my taste but will try that one later.

One of my favourite artists, but I think you need to see her live if your'e unsure - after that, well, it's normally different. London shows of hers always have an audience full of A-list musicians. She often has Stuart Mathis as her lead guitar, who's crazy good. I've seen her with Doug Pettibone too. Cars Wheels on a Gravel Road is what most people list as her best, but I like West more - Essence is good too. So if you don't know her, those two are a good place to start. If you don't like those, she's probably not for you.

Yep, I think I prefer it to the new All Them Witches Album, which is unexpected and a tad disappointing.

I wouldn't disagree, Steve, not an album (overall) I particularly love, either. But then neither is Music Has The Right to Children (their debut) - perhaps as I am loving the new one I should also give them a revisit.

Aynsley Lister - Along for the Ride (2022)



Anyone know Aynsley Lister? English Blues/rock guitarist and singer-songwriter - had never heard of him, but he’s playing Norwich Arts Centre on Wednesday (I always get their newsletter via email on a Sunday) so checking him out.

Impressed so far, he can certainly sing and play the geetar, and the tunes are catchy. This is his latest album, and tinged with Pandemic inspired songs I am guessing. Another guess is that there’s a new album incoming, hence the tour. Will definitely check out his other stuff.

Anyone know Aynsley Lister?

Yup, seen him a couple of times at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne. I don't really play him though, but as a live show he's definitely worth seeing, or was, been over 10 years since I last caught him live. You should go Alex, he'll be good in NAC, that's his kind of venue. He used to be a bit more raw live, his records are a bit safe and MOR for me.
