My fault that I shouldn't have planned to go out.

Dry at the moment but still cold and expecting to be dodging showers all day. Clay pigeon shooting lesson with the son this afternoon again, but we are in a shelter so shouldn’t matter too much if it chucks it down.

Cool that your lad is getting into the clay pigeon shooting - always heartening to see youngsters take up things that get them out of the house

In our day we had the pub for that but clay pigeon shooting is probably cheaper now.

Walked round to Wetherspoons for second breakfast. Sunny but still with that cold wind.

Southerly wind from tomorrow and all week so hopefully that's the end of the 'arctic air' nonsense.

Wouldn't be seen dead in a Weatherspoons pub if I could avoid it! Dirty carpets, poor choice of ales and indifferent staff who would prefer to talk amongst themselves rather than serve customers.

I suppose they're not all the same, ours is clean and tidy and the staff are good.

Surprisingly busy too. I got in there at just after 0900 and there were people already tucking into their second pints.
