My New Band Believe - My New Band Believe (2026)
Stumbled across this whilst looking for a review of another album - not the sort of thing that usually floats my boat but one of a handful of albums I can’t stop playing this week.
“My New Band Believe is the avant-garde, experimental chamber folk project spearheaded by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cameron Picton, the former bassist and vocalist of the acclaimed English rock band Black Midi.”
I don’t really know how to describe it, have no idea what “avant-garde experimental chamber folk” music is, but this is rather strangely compelling for reasons I can’t really explain, especially the stories of the songs. Like nothing I would normally listen to, (and having tried his former band Black Midi I won’t be revisiting that back catalogue) so I’ll file this under mysterious.

That was my era really. Not as rich a vein as the late 60s early 70s it's true but still a lot of good stuff came out of that period.Not the best period for music IMO.
