Bonnie Prince Billy - Wolfroy Goes to Town (2011)

Not quite sure how I ended up with this, a moniker of Will Oldham, with his prolific output. Probably only the 2nd time I have played it, not sure I'll make it to the end!

Duke, Knight, Lord(e), Prince and Queen? Now all we need is some Count Basie, Earĺ Hines, King Oliver and the Barron Knights to complete the feudal title theme, though I can't think of any artists bearing the title of Marquis, or Viscount. :

Well done, Barry! Count Basie was on the list, but my "King" is one I think you'll also approve of.

    Carole King - Music (1971)

I only have Tapestry and this one, Tapestry always gets the plays and the plaudits so I thought Music would get a spin for a change.

    Good choice Alex.

I have a copy of a Bonnie Prince Billy CD somewhere. It is not too bad - but when I went to listen to it again, I couldn't find it. Maybe I gave it away.
(But from experience, I have probably misfiled it somewhere.)

I ended up listening to Tapestry as well, anyway!

    New day, new theme.

A space-based theme? Next up 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars', or maybe Paul McCartney's 'Venus and Mars'?

Hmmm... well I thought it would take more than one before you got it! Yes, space is the theme!

William Orbit - Pieces in a Modern Style (1995)

Follows on both thematically and in style. Back in 1999 I lost one of my best friends to sepsis and we had William Orbit's version of "Barber's Adagio for Strings" at the funeral - always makes this a tough listen and not played this one all the way through in many years. Lovely, though.

    Just arrived this morning:

I don't think Barry was too keen on the cover - not sure if that was because she looks like she needs a good wash or because she looks like she has three legs.

Music-wise, pretty good, and how I expected it to be. Anita would hate her voice, good job she's out.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: KEF Reference 3, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Arcam A75 integrated, Monitor Audio R852 MD speakers
    A/V:
LG OLED65 G56LS, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL T9i sub.

    KICKSTARTER: ENABLING SCAMMERS SINCE 2009

Apollo 440 - Electro Glide in Blue (1997)

I was obsessed with "Ain't Talkin 'Bout Dub" - the second single from this album - when it came out. Based around a sample from Van Halen's Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love - it took me weeks to get hold of the 2nd version of the CD single (remember when bands used to do that?). So another one I haven't played all the way through in a while, but just as good as it always was.
