None of that's to do with the main system that has its own wall sockets.

TV system runs of it though and that sounds great.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

My main system has its own separate ring main of 18 sockets fed by a separate 30A RCMCB, connected to the meter via a Henley bock.

The only non-audio item connected to it is a side light, and sometimes a laptop or phone charger.

Mines runs on "thoughts 'n prayers"

Back in the day when I was looking into this power stuff, the findings of a guy called Roy Riches played a big part?
Good back and forth with him when I was setting my stuff up.
Got me thinking of benefits of balanced power, tight connections, quality fuses and the like.

Was all confirmed at a session of the "Scottish Mafia" AOS group at mine, where Ali brought over his self built balanced mains unit, not a jaw didnt hit the floor when we plugged it in.
One of those Hifi memories you remember!

And set me on a path,
Jeez, how many years ago was THAT Ali?

    We're getting old man...

    Barry,
I would incorporate a discrete 30amp supply setup like yours, along with my current 10KVA balanced mains TX if I could, but its not possible where I live at the moment.
Its the way to go 100%.

It's been a while since then mate lol. Yeah it made quite a difference at your place, biggest difference I've heard it make.

On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

RCA shorting caps for unused RCA inputs on the Serene preamp, May dac and Shanling CD Transport.

Nice wee bump in soundstage focus, learned with tweaking my previous PS Audio dac, shorting the inputs could reduce electrical noise getting into the unit, worked well with the Holo Audio gear as well.

    Cool.

    Posties been...

Upgrade for my Holo Audio dac.
Looking to maximise what I have and this is 'appropriate' for the May KTE.

    Out with the old...

    New Pink fuse

The May is my final dac, and I know from experience over the years the improvement the SR Fuses can bring.
Had a few over the years, and use them throught my System now.
the only ones I didnt get on with was the SR Blue.

There was 2A Purple fuse in the Dac which replaced the stock Holo Audio fuse.
I'll find a place elsewhere in the system for it.

The Pink (from various forums scattered across the Web) is a good step better than the Purple, particularly in a lower noise floor, a quality the dac excels at, so will be a good match.
Dynamics and soundstage depth too are supposed to be noticably better from those who have compared them.
Shall see, fitting it later this evening.

    EDIT
Sounds noticably "different' from the Purple, from experience its gonna be up and down for at least a few weeks.
Plumbed it in, just going to sit back and let it do its thing.

All about bringing out the best of my Holo Audio gear, my Serene KTE preamp still has the stock Holo Red fuse, but not going there as the Pre is still new and sound is still all over the place as the amp burns in.

Will put another SR Pink in there after another couple of months on it and call it done.

Stepping off the Fuse Train after this,
Holo gear has the Pinks, the rest has Purples, which will be Job 'Jobbed.

Is the Pink fuse new to SR? It will be interesting to know if it performs even better than the purple. I am convinced fuses like these make a difference after hearing the Holo Audio Red in my Cyan 2 but now very curious as how much better the SR fuses are?

The Pink is SRs latest fuse, and supercedes the Purple

Swapping in the SR Purple over the stock Holo Red fuse was a noticable improvement Jim, I reckon this would apply to your Cyan 2 dac as well.

Had music playing overnight, working from home today so on my break I sat down and had a listen.
It doesnt sound 'bright' exactly, but compared to the sound I had before its brighter spotlit, not 'etched' exactly...but more hyper detailed, as opposed to an organic sound field where everything is part of everything else.
The classic 'analogue' Holo May sound?

These things take a long long time to properly break in, and the Purple sounded very different to what it eventually settled down to, so zero concerns.

Loving the extra detail as well as the wider and deeper soundstage Im getting now, only snag is its just more of a "Chord Dave" type sound than Im used to?
But the Holo magic will come through again once everything settles down.

Until you hear what these fuses do it's hard to believe the difference they make. Will be interesting to write up the comparison between the Purple and pink fuses once they have "run" in.

Of course some folk will just say the only difference is the color!
