Bought this a few years ago on reputation. Tbh I struggled with it. Anyway, I thought it time to give it another go. I'm still finding it a bit 'out there', but liking it a bit more than last time.
At least it is a proper double - so many new albums are only double because they were produced for CD, and are too long to fit on a single disc, making each side annoyingly short. And expensive for what you're getting... anyway, I'm rambling, just to fill the time before it ends!
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

It was Davis's change of direction musically, aiming for a new audience that would make him a lot more money. Out with the suit and tie for the jazz clubs and their middle-age audience and on with the denim for a much younger target audience.
Regarding 'Bitches Brew', I have similar feelings, and tend to only play one side: 'Miles runs the voodoo down'.
The sleeve notes don't help; to my mind they are just a rambling stream of consciousness.

The only other albums I have is "Kind of Blue", which I find much easier to like, and "Tutu", which time has not been kind to imo.
