    Rush 'Permanent Waves' LP

For all of the great albums that they made, most contain a weak spot. The older I get I reckon that PW has the most evenly high standard and so is probably the one I'd vote as their best.

Working from home today for the first time in a while, haven't had much time to listen to music lately with end of H1 being manic with work. Kicking off with this:

Thought I'd do a bit of Rennaissance this morning, with this from 1995:

A few minutes in I just wasn't feeling it (probably because it was overplayed back then), but as it went on it got better Still not what it was though, and it's not the music's fault, just that I'm thirty years older and I'm preferring 'real' instruments these days.

Superb mix though, one of the very best
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: KEF Reference 3, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Arcam A75 integrated, Monitor Audio R852 MD speakers
    A/V:
LG OLED65 G56LS, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL T9i sub.

    Roger Glover 'Elements' LP

A random purchase from back in the '70s when I was into Deep Purple. Glover borrows the Munich Phil and Simon Phillips and, partnered by Martin Birch, goes for symphonic light rock. It didn't chart anywhere to my knowledge but it's better than it has any right to be. In fact I think I'll spin it again...
