I've spent about 3 hours trawling the internet for a new pair of trainers. I want white with green accents. I found a pair I really like, but they had blue accents, but they beat all the others I had shortlisted. £79.00, ok, will go for it but did another quick search and found the exact same pair but with GREEN accents on TK Maxx - perfect! And guess what - £34.99! Little wins.

Which brand of trainers are they? My next ones will be Adidas Samba, there are a few colour combinations available. But last time I looked they're about 70 quid at Sports Direct. I should have a look at TK Max, though I know it's pot luck whether you can find what you're after. Last time I went in there (few years ago) all their clothing was either terrible colours or extreme sizes (too big or too small).

The right size and right colour for less than half price, well done you

I really like Samba, but my daughter has a pair, and she would cringe if I had the same! TK Maxx would never have occurred to me, if it wasn't for google.

I got a lot of Tacchini but never had the trainers.

Not so keen on Samba I usually get Dragon but last time out could not get my size for some reason. So ended up with Classic which are okay.

    £35 is very tempting.

It looks like the green ones are synthetic materials and the navy version is leather, that could explain the price difference, might be worth checking.

Thanks, I did spot that, I suspect one or the other is an error (I would be surprised if they made versions of essentially the same shoe from different materials) but could be.

Trainers were miles better in the 80s when they were made in Europe and the US. Our nations have sold us out to Asia, and given us shoddy quality goods too, not what i call progress.

Pop/C&W music is officially the most irritating music on the planet. The cafe I was in today played one after another of the twangy tuneless crap for over an hour before I begged them to change to something less likely to make my teeth itch. They complied with some Led Zep, what a relief.
