These shows can be enjoyed, provided you're able to suspend your disbelief. It's always the shows with action scenes, such as Knight Rider, A-Team, Incredible Hulk, Six Million Dollar Man - with scenes that defy the laws of physics. I don't know why we are so critical of it these days while it was accepted forty years ago (apart from Six Million Dollar Man, that were never believable).

Shows that are 'character-led' stand the test of time so much better imo, MASH being a prime example.

I used to watch both Knight Rider and The A-Team in the '80. Now I can watch Knight Rider on Legend, and when that has finished, turn over to Legend Extra to watch The A-Team.

1980s Saturday TV was terrific.

Tiswas in the morning, World of Sport/ Grandstand in the afternoon then anything by Glen A Larson at night.

Guy was a tv show machine.

Just watched The Repair Shop VE Day Special - amazes me how these craftspeople restore the objects, and always brings a tear to my eye when the owners get emotional seeing the results of their work.

The Repair Shop is a "must see" for me. Like you, I'm always amazed by the skills displayed by the repair team.

I know that someone here was less than impressed by their electronics expert when he repaired a Garrard deck. But the whole point of The Repair Shop is to return items brought in to working and usable order - not to give it some sort of audiophile upgrade.

Continuing the VE day theme, just watched the VE Day 80 Celebration concert - not sure The Darkness was the best choice on the schedule but otherwise a fitting tribute to the greatest generation and a tear or two here.

I suppose if the Nazis had won we would never have had rock n roll which would mean we'd never have had The Darkness. So something of a double-edged sword.

Volkswagen is the highest selling car brand in the UK anyway!

Not sure I would mourn the loss of Morris Dancing - or Morris cars for that matter. We won the war and lost the peace, as they say.

On the whole though, I think it probably worked out for the best the way it did.
