True. In any case I'd rather just slip away than have any fuss.

So I played "Dark Side of the Moon" earlier, streamed from Tidal, on my iPad. On my computer, scrolling through Facebook and loads of posts relating to Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and similar. I would get it if it was on the same device, but just goes to show how everything is connected and you're not safe from prying internet eyes!

Because they're charging buyers now instead! I was just about to make an offer on an item and it slapped a fee on top so I thought sod this and closed the app.

    I think I've twigged what they're doing.

The other day I looked at some speakers I've been watching for a while, and the buy it now price has inexplicably increased from £4,250 to £4,336.72. So today I've been looking at various other items for sale and found that ones sold from business sellers have nicely rounded buy it now prices as usual, while private sellers' items have odd-looking prices you wouldn't make up, like £146.22, £3,448.68.

Ebay are chucking a lot of money at TV adverts stating that selling is now free Free my arse.

I mentioned a while back that there seemed to be a lot less kit for sale on eBay than in days gone by.

I suppose if you run out of sellers then you've not got an auction site anymore.

So their solution is to charge the buyer not the seller.

Some vehicle auctions charge both buyer and seller and some only charge the seller, not aware of any auction house that only charges buyers. Interesting strategy.

Can you have an auction site with no buyers though?

Oh shit, really? I haven't noticed that on all the records I've been buying on Ebay over the last few months, may be just BIN items?

I think it's everything the BIN price shown may include the fee already I'm not sure.

As I mentioned earlier, only those buying from private sellers seem to be affected.
