Two good 'uns there Mike. I hadn't played David Live in years, and always thought the SQ was a bit crappy, but when I put it on recently it turns out my current rig likes it - what's that all about

Might have a bit of a Bowie day tomorrow myself, I've no plans to leave the house.

Yeah, that is a bit odd. I have always thought that the SQ is decent, whatever system I have played it through . Although it is recorded across 2 nights it is my favourite live Bowie Album. No post recording shenanigans and a stellar Bowie performance of many of his best tunes.

When I originally bought David Live, it was to play on my Fidelity HF43 mono record player. It was never going to sound great on that.

Although I liked the album, I sort of fell out with Bowie, I thought he'd abandoned us for America. The lyric change on All The Young Dudes didn't help (Wendy's stealing clothes from unlocked cars), which I assumed was due to American audiences having no clue what Marks and Sparks was.

So I didn't buy "Young Americans", and only returned with the release of "Low". Then at a later date I found the lyric change was due to advertising rules in this country... so that's alright then

Might start tomorrow with Young Americans, I got a shiny new copy a couple of years ago.
