This album was a recommended play on TAS recently, and having listened to it I could not resist getting a vinyl copy, awesome musically! It is an interesting concept album, there are some classic guitar solos with the two guitarists using interplay between them to great effect in parts, the bass and drumming is some of the best I have heard, vocals are excellent all making the whole great. It is not all HM crash and bang, and has some subtle parts, and is quite atmospheric. It is well worth getting a copy if you like this sort of thing. Will become a firm favourite I mine I think.

This 2021 re-issue 2021 done at Abbey Road Studio I have to say is very good IMO, it sounds very dynamic and clear on my system, well worth getting a copy, minimal background noise from the pressing and dead flat LPs, good soundstage and mix, there are several comments saying this release sounds better than the original, one review does not agree. A few LPs of this version are still available on Amazon, and a few on Discogs if you are into LPs. But also well worth getting on CD.

Personally I found the digital hi-res version(2006) on Qobuz a bit forward in terms of mix, and slightly toppy, I have not yet listened to the CD version on Qobuz(2003).

The first Steely Dan record I ever bought, back in about '74, after hearing it on my mate's brother's hifi (ERA turntable with SME arm and Shure something-or-other cart, a tiny Trio amp and Dynaco A65 speakers). It sounded the dog's b******s.

Album still sounds great today, a favourite of mine.

Today I'm being lazy, just listening to Radio Caroline

I've just had a look on their website. What they're streaming is an eclectic mix indeed. I can access it by first asking Alexa to enable Radio Paradise, then thereafter asking Alexa to play Radio Paradise. I'll give it a go tomorrow afternoon when I next have the house to myself

Just put Radio Paradise on, a reggae cover of Mother and Child Reunion, followed by Radio, Radio by Elvis Costello, and now Kings of Leon (which I could live without). But 2 out of 3 ain't bad
