Off the present topic... but... I love that you have that Sony controller/processor. Your setup seems so clean/uncluttered and likely sounds pretty **** good. In a secondary system I have an early 2000's(?) era Sony AVR and the internal DAC, though limited to 24/96, is preferable to me over some (not all) modern DACs (liquidity vs. uber detail?). Through experimentation, I found that although, per the manual, Sony does not implicitly say it supports 24/88.2...it actually does quite easily. Even downsampling 24/192 (at the source) and sending it to the Sony DAC sounds very good. I have no idea what chips/implementation Sony was using at the time but I kind of wish standalone Sony DACs were a thing at that time. Maybe they were and I just don't know it.

I like the look of the R10 (especially if it was available in black), not only for the balanced outputs, but for the BNC digital input (though it is not clear if it is actually a 75 Ohm version).

From memory, I think Marco uses a Sony R1 DAC in his system.

We have a new left wing government in the UK, were you aware of that? So that means cracking down on free speech, or as they call it 'hate speech'. We'll probably end up like other states with left wing govts. like Canada, New zealand etc, and soon anyone who questions things like adults changing sex, or whether there's any such thing as a British person, will literally be thrown into prison with no trial.

The idea that you can create a 'better society' via legislation is fundamentally flawed, I agree. But that's what happens when you have politicians who are lawyers.

They've already tackled that by the simple solution of letting a load of the current inmates out early.

I love how overbuilt that stuff was/is. I have learned that a lot of great Japanese gear never made it over to the US. I have also often considered getting a 120V to 100V converter... ...and going shopping many times. It is somewhat similar to when I discovered UK and Japanese jazz that was apparently going on at the same time US jazz was happening but we didn't hear about it because (so it seems to me) the powers that be kept us living in a bubble. I digress.

You can bet Trump had zero to do with any of those decisions, because he barely has a clue what goes on in the WHite house, not even reading basic memos, he had to have everything explainded to him, and then of course there was the turnover of staff, an absolute embarrassment to the highest office in the land, and the leader of the free world, God help you and us if he gets in again, expect some serious attacks on democracy.

Unnominated? If you care about democracy, then why on earth support Trump, I'm absolutely baffled why Americans can't see him for what he is, a shabby autocrat, I mean how can you still respect him after he told his supporters to march on Capitol hill, and how he contested completely fair election results, his lack of respect for the press. I'd say you're sleepwalking into an autocratic nightmare, but its so blatantly obvious that its screaming into your faces. Honestly its insane that that shabby failed businessman is in the running for the highest office on the planet, Roosevelt is spinning in his grave. It was Trumps maneuvering in the supreme court that meant some states were able to turn back the clock on women's reproductive rights by over half a century. Yet here you are a seemingly intelligent person supporting an absolute slob.
