That advert where the bloke is worrying all day about his dog being in the vet, and when they bring it out it's blatantly obvious that the animal has never clapped eyes on him before in its life.

Must have seen it ten times and right now I can't recall in the slightest what it is they're advertising.

Yes, it's for Petplan insurance. That dog clearly has had no acting experience and is unable to hide his discomfort at being made to participate in this web of deceit. Beardy bloke is not his dad and the chap with the dead cat on his head hadn't fixed his leg, which wasn't broken anyway.

What really bugs me about that ad though (and there's another that's just as bad) is that by including Noel "Supervet" Fitzpatrick the implication is that if you buy Petplan insurance that you'll get your pet repaired by him personally.

I can imagine customers phoning Petplan and saying "my cat has been hit by a car - so I'd like your vet Mr. Fitzpatrick to do her a bionic tail like he does on his TV programme". "I'm sorry your plan doesn't cover treatment by specific vets. Amputation is the only option".

He is a veterinary surgeon who takes on really difficult cases which are life-threatening or life-limiting. He has a TV series which follows these cases. I don't watch these programmes, I just know of their existence.

A customer cannot request his services - his company (Fitzpatrick Referrals) has to be referred by another vet.

Also the bloke doesn't look like his dog which is another error. Round here, at least, blokes resemble their dog. Or the dog resembles them, not sure exactly which way up that works.

When did beards become a sign of having plenty of money? When I was younger it meant you were homeless or a hippy and/or green party member (and invariably wore sandals).

They didn't really. But that looks like a statement beard to me, normally sported by blokes who don't give a shit about whether it will keep them from getting a proper job, because they don't need a job. It's attention they seek, not work. I suppose it's possible he's homeless, but his teeth look too well maintained to be hobo-teeth, and his sweater is remarkably free of dog hairs.

But............... someone over there, specific someones, have been sniffing some serious glue if they think they are going to come across the pond and jail me/us for saying................... anything.

With all due respect, we are many, we are not criminals, we are peacefully trying to live out our lives, listen to some records.......but make no mistake, we are armed to the ********** teeth. Those certain persons need to check themselves.
