I do have quite large wrists and my hands are like shovels, so I could get away with a large watch, but I'm not too keen on diver's watches. They just have too much of everything for my tastes, I prefer simple.

I like this one a lot, but really I'm some way off affording one. I'll check out some of your less costly options, like the Invictas.

Have a look at the Seiko Presage range Steve, looks like your looking for something smart rather than a tool Watch like a diver.

Cheers Roy - I've just been checking out these 'Presage' models, and some I really like. I was quite surprised at the prices asked, it puts them into "Christmas pressie from Anita" category, which will keep my hifi/music budget free

I might be pestering you for guidance nearer the time, hope you don't mind - as you may remember, my last watch (3 years ago) was a Mickey Mouse watch, which couldn't accommodate a strap large enough for me, and is now lying around waiting for one of the grandkids to grow into it

    You're welcome Steve.

Also have a look on Ali Express at San Martin and Pagani watches, like Invicta they use a Seiko movement in most of their automatics and some of the designs are quite smart.

    Good grief.

£735,000, and it's not even new I suppose it could be handy for anyone who ever worried about not having a level wrist, though personally if I'd got one in a Christmas cracker it would end up in the drawer with all the spare batteries, dried up felt pens and and lighters that ran out of gas.
