    Great vid again James. That Meridian CD player looks like a lovely bit of kit. Interesting that the SMSL SU-1 only marginally improves on the Philips chip when used as a transport. TBH the Meridian seems to be quite rare these days and they seem to hold their price on Ebay, testament to the quality of what was an expensive piece of kit back in the day

    I was amazed at the performance of the Meridian 206. Who would have thought that an ancient CD player could sound so good?

    Me.

    I've got a copy of 'Hi-Fi Review' from 1990 that has a review of the 206.

    Impossibly expensive high end to me back then. I'd bought the mag so I had something to read in the DHSS while they sorted out my claim

    There's one on eBay right now on a £350 BIN if anyone fancies a punt on one.
