Quite classy that one - I don't like self winders though, don't see the point. What's wrong with a battery?

Nothing at all.
But I have much more pride of ownership in my little examples of horological art than my g-shocks.
Value wise also quartz watches, for the most part, are almost throw away whereas when I move even my Ali Express specials on via ebay they mostly get their money back.
I much prefer a self winder, especially if it’s a watch you don’t wear very often (which I dare bet Roy has more than a few!) nothing worse than going to put a watch on and the battery has given up the ghost (ok, lots worse, first world problem…)
For my battery watches I get them done at Timpsons with the lifetime guarantee - pay a bit more once, but then free replacements for ever.

There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing and be nothing Aristotle
He doesn't like my taste in watches though.

Easy enough to replace your own watch batteries and they're pennies to buy
