The court heard Gustavson was treated in hospital and discharged after a couple of days with a referral for a psychiatric assessment.

Managed to solve the Evening Standard's cryptic crossword in less than an hour. That's a first for me, it normally takes me two to three hours.

walking home from work last night about 1800 I saw three cyclists all wearing black, riding black bikes, with no lights or reflectors.
Becoming a common sight. Thought I would look up how many of these idiots get killed each year, surprisingly the 'death toll' has gone down
24% drop in rate of cyclist fatalities per billion miles cycled in 2022 compared to pre-pandemic levels
Cycling mileage up by 12% compared to pre-Covid levels
Provisional casualty stats published in May show cyclist fatalities down 85 in 2022 – lowest level since at least 1993

Maybe this is because a lot of them now seem to ride mostly on the pavement but the three I saw were all on the road.

Well that was a shit day.
Driving to Preston this morning, the van packed up on the M6 exit slip road, which turned out to be a split fuel line pissing diesel onto the road, all of the engine bay, everywhere but where it was supposed to go. Time was 9.30am.
Called AA, who said the van was in a hazardous location on chevrons which to my eyes looked like a reasonable quasi-hard shoulder, and so they were going to call the police out to arrange moving the van to a safer place.
An hour later a Highways Agency SUV arrived, and they informed me that because of its dangerous location, and the fact that it was still on the M6 (just), it should be recovered and taken somewhere safer before the AA will touch it. At a cost of about £300But... they offered to shove my van a further 40 metres to get it past the 'End of motorway' sign, which they did... Very nice people
So then I had to get it recovered onto an AA-appointed low loader and moved somewhere more AA-friendly. He arrived at 1.30pm. Then I had to wait another 90 minutes for the AA, who to be fair fixed it in 20 minutes.
So apart from a couple of treks across two busy carriageways for a brew at Subway I spent much of 9.30 till 3.30pm out in the pissing rain, and wondering how much I'd get if I sold this crappy van that clearly hates me.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in
