Well it certainly confused me! So, as a collection of tracks by well-known Blues artists, it's a nice selection.

Although I probably have all of the tracks on the respective artists' recordings, the "Cooder collection" is a convenient selection. I might even get a copy for myself.

Talking of "stunning recording", what is your opinion of Ry Cooder's 'Bop Till You Drop'?

The music and playing is great - but the recording stinks! It was one of the first digital recordings and it shows. The sound stage is as flat as a board, with no depth or solidity to the instruments - they just pop up and down, in and out like the flags on an old fashioned cash register, or the ducks in a shooting gallery.

Cooder was initially enthusiastic about the recording, but has since disowned it.

Ironically the CD sounds marginally better than the LP.
