    It's from 1986 - it's okay. Imagine crossing Clapton with Phil Collins then chucking Tina Turner into the mix.

    I don't think you'd be that keen. I have a soft spot because that was the tour on which I saw him live.

    I think that was the time when both Clapton and Collins were going through partner difficulties. I also think Collins was staying with Clapton, so maybe during that period they influenced one another musically.

    Collins plays drums on it and produces it.

    I've not played August in a long time, must give it a spin. I remember my brother and I were record shopping and were both interested in this and Graceland and we agreed that I would get August and he got Graceland. I ended up playing Graceland more but liked August, I think it was of it's time, he looks like he's auditioning for Miami Vice on the cover. I only saw Clapton once on the Just One Night tour and he was very good.
