Many years ago I taught science in a secondary school in a pretty dodgy area. After a lesson on heat transfer one of the lads asked whether holding a dustbin
lid over his head would stop police helicopter thermal imaging from being able to “see” him.
I was pleased that he was trying to apply some Science to his everyday life (I did tell him that the dustbin lid would make him stand out a bit though)
