    It is different but not night and day. I will pop some listening impressions on my blog later. What I can say for certain is I think you are right about digital audio in that you can’t tell a great deal of difference between DACs.

    This should be more concerning for folk who have thrown lots of money them. I had a Chord Qutest here in my system some time back and it was definitely no better or marginally poorer sounding to this SMSL SU-1.

    Reading round the net I saw an amusing post where a chap did a blind listening session with his mate who had a DCS DAC and they both scored the SMSL SU-1 higher!

    I read on another forum someone saying that DACs are like different flavours of ice cream. For me the recordings should be the different flavours of ice cream, the DAC is just the scoop.

    It is powered via the USB C socket - with 5v charger or LPS or directly from your computer. The USB socket also doubles as a data input aswell so you can play music and power it through the same socket.
