Same here. And for some reason, drivers are more inconsiderate and aggressive Friday afternoons

Mums and dads claim that their school runs are justified because increased traffic makes the roads unsafe for little Fabian to be walking to school. Conveniently overlooking the fact that they themselves are a huge contributor to the traffic chaos. I used to love it during school holidays, you could really tell the difference.

And these kids will be growing up with next to no road sense. Maybe the BBC's "public information films" should make a return. But make 'em rated 18, scare the living shit out of them.

Most kids seem to live in a virtual world possibly from hours of playing computer games where if you get annihilated you just jump up with a new body and carry on. No road sense whatsoever especially on a bicycle.

In so far as driving standards go it makes me wonder if those who learn now or in the years since the cost of lessons have soared limit the amount of lessons to suit their pocket giving them much less time on the road. They may have enough skill to pass a test but driving well is so much more than that.

We recently saw a P plate driver stuck at a roundabout as they were clearly struggling with using it!

Ah yes the school run - don't you just love it! There is a secondary school on the edge of the village and twice a weekday the roads near the school are clogged with cars parked half on the pavement, and in a queue sometimes 50m long, leading up to a road junction. This means if you are driving past these parked cars towards the junction and a car turns left off the main road, you have to reverse all the way back as the car turning in has right of way. It's a real pain in the arse.

laws were passed up here to give councils right to stop this pavement parking and over dropped kerbs etc.

weren't they feeding them dead cows at one point and that's what caused Mad Cow disease?

I think they still get chips and gravy on a Wednesday lunchtime though. I can't remember who told me that.

The vietcong survived on a handfull of mouldy rice per day, cows eat nothing but grass, why is the human diet so varied?

I seem to recall that it was sheep carcases processed into cattle feed that caused it. The sheep had Scrapie, a prion disease. The prions are a protein that fool the host into replicating it I believe and this transferred into cattle. Prions are not a virus or bacteria, they are not an organism.

Just the gist of what I remember, I didn't Google anything.

A varied diet used to be the preserve of the rich until not that long ago. Still is in a lot of places.
