You have the same one I used to have I think, XB930E ? Uses a fixed laser mechanism so that's why it needs the puck.

Great player, lovely build quality, don't know why I sold mine. Buyer got it for his daughter but tried it out first, said it gave nothing away to whatever high end mega money machine he was using.

Friend's daughter been offered 5 year recording contract with a major label. It would mean ditching her existing band and moving to L.A

Turned it down. Doesn't want to move to L.A, doesn't want to ditch the band.

I think she's crazy, what say you?

There is, but on the other hand she may end up back working in a dog grooming parlour and she wants to make her living from music.

Only young, and will still be young at the end of the five years whether it works our or not.

Is this Keira Mac? Her loyalty to her bandmates is commendable, but these opportunities don't come along every day. If she accepts and makes a success of it, she may end up with sufficient clout to call the shots with her support players. And bring her mates back in (if they're up to snuff).

And five years isn't really that long.

In the end it's the things we don't do that we regret, that's what they say.

And that of course is true. It's going to be a difficult decision.

It would be like an apprenticeship (albeit better paid than most), she could learn so much about how it all works, transferable skills

Yes it's an XB930E. If it had balanced outputs it would be perfect.
