think it came from sweden originally. the cloth was 'felted up'. the swedish name is vadmalsstamp .. the mill dated back to the 16th c

Standing outside Earls Court waiting for Pink Floyd "The Wall" concert 1979. I am pictured with my back facing the camera with denim jacket and some artwork of my own on the back. Wish I had kept it.
When I went too the concert I had read one review and did not know what to expect. As it turns out it was by far the best concert I ever went too over the past 50 years. I was just 16 at the time and it blew my mind. The sound and visuals were truly extraordinary even way back then!

I saw Pink Floyd a couple of times at Mothers in Erdington, fabulous gigs.
A few years later I saw them at De Monfort Hall in Leicester, the set had come on a lot.
I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

I've only seen Pink Floyd twice: the first time in the late '60s when Syd Barratt was with them, and the second time was at the Bath Festival when they performed Atom Heart Mother.
