Carry On Dick, 1974..
The film was banned in South Africa in the 1970s as the South African authorities considered it anti-Christian. This was because of Sidney James's role as a parish priest as being corrupt having an alias as a robber.
The name of King George II's first professional police force was "The Bow Street Runners". The name of this outfit was the same as the true life historical police unit "The Bow Street Runners" which was the first in English history. The were founded in 1749 which was within a year of when this film is set it being 1750. In real life, Dick Turpin died in 1739, around eleven years before the picture actually takes place.
Bernard Bresslaw insisted on a closed set for the scene where his character, Sir Roger Daley, is stripped of his clothes and possessions. In the script, it was necessary for Sir Roger and Lady Daley, played by Margaret Nolan, to be naked, apart from a hat covering their private parts. Other cast members took photographs of Bernard Bresslaw as a practical joke in order to poke fun at his insistence of the set being closed to most crew.

GOTI, 2018...
Joe Pesci was originally cast as Angelo Ruggiero. Pesci later filed a $3-million lawsuit against the producers claiming breach of contract. In the lawsuit he claimed that after he gained 30 pounds for the role of the overweight Ruggiero, he was instead offered a different role. The suit was settled in 2013.
John Travolta got the title role because the Gotti family personally asked for him. John Travolta said that his eeriest experience in this film was wearing John Gotti's checkered tweed overcoat (in the opening and closing scenes) because he could still smell Gotti's cologne on the fabric.
Quite possibly setting a new world's record, the film had 58 producers.

Have got Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano's autobiography which is a great read but ofc makes Sammy out to be some sort of saint. Gotti comes across as a total dick who gets everything wrong.

They had 'The Pirates of Blood River' 1962 on GREAT! action channel earlier. It's a crummy old British thing, but unusual in having Glenn Corbett in it. He was mostly in US westerns and worked with John Wayne. I recognised the main location for the film, it was Black Park Lake near Slough, been there many times. Lots of studios used it.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones are good friends in real life. Also, they were both considered to play Snake Plissken in "Escape from New York (1981)" before Kurt Russell got the part.
MGM had such confidence in the finished film that they delayed the film from its original April 1994 release date to the busy summer July 94 hoping it would be a surprise hit..... it wasn't
