And 52 years later, still sounding great. Probably a lot to do with Tony Visconti, who worked similar magic with Bowie.

Yeah the album also reminds me of my first teenage love, who turned out to be a total bag. She borrowed my Alice Cooper Killer album, dumped me, wrote her name all over the sleeve and refused to give it back to me. Happy days.

Next up a new discovery for me thanks to the many of you here who hold her in such high regard and rightly so.

Released in 2009, My One and Only Thrill, received three Grammy Award nominations:

Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) for the title track (Mendoza),

Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (Helik Hadar and Al Schmitt),

Producer of the Year, Non-Classical (Klein).

The album has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide, too few if you ask me, she deserves to be more widely acclaimed, superb vocals and surrounded by talented people make this a joy to listen to.

Finally before work beckons, ah the joy of home working. This truly awesome underrated Canadian Folk / Country singer-songwritter.

Released in April this year, Stand in the Joy is his fourth studio album and has received considerable critical acclaim.
