    Tasty,

'Engine does not start' but I think that should be okay as long as you're not planning to drive it anywhere.

Could be a fuse but bit too pricey for a punt

This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Probably just needs an oil change and a couple of spark plugs...

You'd be wise to establish that they have the correct SP1063 (I think) version of the B200 bass/mid driver as it's not unheard of for the SP1014 from the KEF Chorale to be substituted as a replacement.
I believe that the only difference is that the 1063 has an aluminium voice coil and the 1014 has copper. I could be wrong though!

Yes, I think that's largely it, but the cone doping looks slightly different.

On early KEF Bextrene cones B110 and B200, doping is obviously brush painted, but on later B110 and B200 it looks like it's sprayed.

In the mid 70's I accidentally burnt the coil of a B200 SP1014 which had brush painted dope (with a new Quad 405). I sent it back to KEF for repair, and it came back with what looked like sprayed doping. So I sent back the other B200 for the same treatment.

My thoughts are that the brush painted doping sounds better than the sprayed doping, it possibly breaks up the resonances better.

That's quite likely: brushed doping will not be so uniform as spray doping, so will probably dampen more harmonics.

The 1063 in the Corelli have brush doped cones, I'm looking at some now. I do think the coating might be thinner though.

Possible KEF went the same way as B&W, they started spraying their cones after a few years. I had some of their DW200 drive units from the DM4 and the later ones were definitely spray doped.

(the DM4 is not a patch on the Corelli by the way )

I have two pairs of Corelli here, just looked at one pair, definitely brush painted B200's, but neatly done so, almost so neat as almost spray looking.

I prefer the treble and midrange from the DM4, the Corelli mid sounds a bit quacky to me, in fact I find that with all B200's.

My early B&W DM2's have brushed doping, but later DM2's (and DM2a's) that I have look spray doped. My early DM4's are brush doped, not sure about my later ones, can't get to them! but I think they are spray doped.
