It's the 'Hendrix Family Authorised Edition' remastered from the original tapes with 24 page booklet'.

No tits on show, not allowed to have tits on album covers in our progressive liberal/fascist brave new world, but I do have the original vinyl gatefold with the proper cover.

Hendrix was angry when he found out about the original cover - but in those days the recording companies had total control over everything.

My copy has the original cover, and I have to say some of the models do look 'uncomfortable' with their poses.

So did the double album with the models come out first? I'd always assumed my old copies which were two separate albums would have been the originals.

One strange thing about my double album with the models: The sides are arranged across the two discs so that presumably you could put both discs on an autochanger record deck and follow side one with side two without any swapping over, if that makes any sense.

I think the new cover was done for the American Market; to protect their delicate sensibilities. Record shops there probably tired of selling the LP in a brown paper bag.

Yes the ones I had in the early 70s were as the images I put up in post #26209. It looks like the double with the naked models may have come before them. And American censorship sounds like a plausible reason.

According to Wikipedia there are at least 3 different 'original' covers which varied depending on the label. The nude cover was done for Tracks.

Yes, my poke around tinternet confirms what you're saying.

One other thing that might interest some: if the text on the inside of the 'models' cover is blue, it is worth a lot more than if it's white. Though really life's too short to be concerned with such nonsense.
