I'm sure I've seen (I think I've seen all of the Coen brother's output), but can't remember much about it.

some good interviews on the bluray disc.. well worth catching at least if not buying..

Another Coen Bros film now.... Fargo, 1996... bluray..




Fargo premiered at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival, where Joel Coen won the festival's Prix de la mise en scène (Best Director Award) and the film was nominated for the Palme d'Or. The film was both a commercial and critical success, earning particular acclaim for the Coens' direction and script and the performances of McDormand, Macy, and Buscemi. Fargo received seven Oscar nominations at the 69th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor for Macy, winning two: Best Actress for McDormand and Best Original Screenplay for the Coens.

William H. Macy begged the directors for the role of Jerry Lundegaard. He did two readings for the part, and became convinced he was the best man for the role. When the Coens (Joel Coen & Ethan Coen) didn't get back to him, he flew to New York (where they were starting production) and said, "I'm very, very worried that you are going to screw up this movie by giving this role to somebody else. It's my role, and I'll shoot your dogs if you don't give it to me." He was joking, of course.

black humour(sometimes odd) is one of their main trade marks, and there is nothing more black than gory or odd deaths/murders.

Leonardo DiCaprio chose to devour a raw slab of bison's liver, even though he is vegetarian. He also had to learn to shoot a musket, build a fire, speak two Native American languages (Pawnee and Arikara), and study with a doctor who specializes in ancient healing techniques. DiCaprio calls it the hardest performance of his career.

Shot chronologically on an 80-day schedule that took place over a total principal photography time period of nine months. This unusually long production time was due to the cold weather conditions, the remoteness of the locations and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu's and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki's aesthetic plan to shoot only with natural light for maximum realism. Only a few shooting hours were available every day and had to be carefully planned in advance.

Really liked this film. Probably the best acting of DiCaprio's career. And Tom Hardy was totally convincing too. Amazing camera work, which really put you in the thick of it. One of the few films post-2000 which I could watch more than once.

Starring some bloke I only know from "Eastenders", co-starring the ever-pretty Lily James ("The Darkest Hour"), and with appearances by Sarah Lancashire, Ed Sheeran, and whossisname, Begbie from "Trainspotting", as well as a lot of other familiar faces. it's about an unsuccessful musician who, after an accident wakes up in a world where The Beatles never existed.

Most enjoyable little film directed by Danny Boyle. And written by Richard Curtis, but don't let that put you off.
