Will Putin do a bunk if things get iffy? He has a 'hideout' right down on the Kazakh/Mongolia/China border intersection.

(he could always ask Biden for sanctuary )

This could go so many ways, none of which I feel will be peaceful?

That submersible thing again - just been reading that the youth was bricking it and didn't want to go but felt he should as it was for father's day.

Have to say I'd have physically restrained my father if he'd been trying to get in that thing. Knock him out if I had to but not a chance I would have let him do it let alone go along with him.

Have you seen the way the 5 inch thick carbon fibre tubular hull was made?

Just a linear wrap of carbon fible, not even laying the carbon at angles to each other, mental.
I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

You don't mean it was just carbon fibre wrap on a plastic hull? Now that would be crazy. Ok on cheap speakers but not a deep sea submersible.

I'd be interested to know the fatigue effect of repeated dives on carbon fibre. I imagine it would weaken each time so it was a ticking time bomb.

They just said on the radio there's a convoy heading to Moscow on the M4. I can't see that getting far with Sukhoi Frogfoot and stand off attack helicopter attacks. Sounds like the road to Basra again to me.

When the police arrived he shot at them too so I don't think it was personal.
Were you working as a police hostage negotiator at the time?

I was working at a car rental place in the ghetto. After being shot at the cops came back with Heckler & Koch and an Alsatian. They sent in the Alsatian to do the negotiations, but the bird had flown the coop.

Is that true? You wouldn't buy plywood with the layers having the grain all running in the same direction.

first thing you learn making glass fibre boats is several changes in direction of the fibre.. i'd imagine carbon fibre to be similar. there is also titanium in it but dunno where, and a dod of perspex up front which apparently buckles inward under pressure. it wouldn't surprise me if it gave way first. the owner said it makes a crackly noise before it goes, and you need to head up fast

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
