Not been to Windhoek but have sailed into Walvis Bay and Luderitz a few times to obtain fuel and victuals. Not far from Luderitz harbour is a 'sunken city', actually a small village now almost completely covered in sand. Spooky.

On one such stop in Luderitz, while waiting for a starter motor to be sent up from Cape Town, we befriended a crew working not far off shore vacuuming up the ocean bottom and filtering it for diamonds.
