    Default Cost of living.

Went out for walk earlier, returning via the park. There was an ice cream van outside, so I thought I would buy myself an ice cream; something I haven't done for a long time. Imagine my surprise on having to pay £3 for a "99".
Good job they now accept cards.

You've made me fancy an ice cream now. But I won't be paying 3 quid for it, I've just got to visit the freezer where I spotted a couple of tubs yesterday and scoop some into a dish.

I'll hold off from buying any for another 7 days, after which I'll have a huge range to choose from, and much cheaper than over here...

Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, so if you go a couple of miles south to the centre it's exactly like Blackpool! We've stayed here several times (not at this hotel tho), and always stay outside of the centre. So the holiday is as quiet as you want it to be.

And nearby Nessebar is even quieter, has UNESCO heritage status, and it has a nice little record shop where against my better judgement I always buy one or two, then have the faff of packing them safely for the trip home

Hope the two of you have a great time.
I've not been long back from a couple of weeks spent in Croatia and Montenegro.

Yes Barry I had noticed your absence

This is our first time out of the country since before Covid. Can't believe how much prices have gone up.

I've fancied trying Croatia for some time, looks great. But we're planning a big holiday later this year, so wanted something low cost in the meantime. And Croatia is quite a bit more expensive than Bulgaria. Maybe next year.

Never considered Montenegro (Black Mountains?) as a holiday destination - how was it?
