'The Matrix' did nothing for me.

I didn't really like 'No Country for Old Men', but have to admit the ending came as a bit of a volte-face.

I've seen it twice, but do not have a copy. If I see a copy cheap I'll buy it - but I'm buying DVDs faster than I can watch them. I already have a backlog of about 50 to watch.

I've seen all of the Matrix trilogy. The SF is interesting, but i got bored with the special effects. Have no need for a copy.

    We watched this last night.

Really enjoyed this film, though I'd thought it might be covering a longer period in time, not just the weeks surrounding the Normandy evacuations. But I suppose the clue is in the film title.

Gary Oldman was superb as you might expect. As were all the cast, including Lily James, the bird off all the Sky Mobile adverts She's nice

Everything Everywhere All at Once, 2022... 4k bluray... This is a German bluray but has option for english fortunately but there are areas in Chinese.... (Evelyn speaks to her father in Cantonese, but she speaks to Waymond in Mandarin, showing cultural differences in their upbringing. Evelyn speaks to Joy in Mandarin and English, while Joy answers back in English and bad Chinese. Neither one finds the words to express their ideas clearly to the other, keeping them divided). James Wong, the father was 91 when making this and is now 94..

All the VFX for this film were done by 9 people, including the two directors, with the majority of the shots being done by a core group of 5 people. None of the VFX team went to school for VFX. They were all friends who taught themselves with tutorials they found online for free.

Michelle Yeoh said that the film was completely out of her comfort zone, "I was suddenly doing comedy, physical comedy, action, horror, every single genre all packed into one, and jumping in and out of it. It was such a gratifying experience. I've waited a long time to receive a script like that. Because, as you get older, the box gets smaller and smaller."

^^ excelent film that... now, another great, if confusing one with the 2001 Mulholland Drive on 4k bluray. (Studio Canal version)

The set of reels that was distributed to the movie theaters included a computer-written, photocopied note from director David Lynch himself giving special instructions to the projectionists worldwide. Specifically, he did not want the film to be centered vertically on the screen, but rather to "allow more overhead" as the term in projectionist's slang, that is, to let the top part of the frame be more visible than the bottom part. This was because the film was originally made for TV, with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 (or 16:9) in mind -- without the projectionists' manual correction, the aspect ratio of the theatrical release (1.85:1) would have resulted in heads being cut off at the top of the silver screen. Lynch also asked to raise the volume of the theater's sound system by three decibels when the film was playing. The note ended with the words, "Your friend, David Lynch."

Ought to try and watch it again, as I didn't 'get it' first time round. I have that problem with anything by David Lynch.
