I think the point was that valves are getting stupidly expensive, so a good MM phono stage could make sense.
I have never heard a Croft phono stage, but I have no doubt that it will be good.

BrilliantJames, I think you need try a decent MM stage for a fair comparison.
Sure, the price will not be the same as the iFi (that is almost pronounced Iffy in France) but it will show you what a good stage is capable of. There are some very good stages out there, and some companies run loan schemes without obligations to putprchase.
I still use my BB3, as in my eyes, there is no better phono stage on the planet, because I built mine.
There is strictly no bias at all in that statement. No, honestly.

I have read some great things about the project phono stage. I think they can be picked up fairly cheaply second hand?

no idea re second hand prices.. i looked there, and they are 520 new. there is a dearer one over double the price too. great kit if you want to record off your records, tapes etc

Back to the acoustic reflection panels. I wanted to increase the amount of panels in my listening room having had so much success with just a couple and decided to try and incorporate some Wall Art. The main objective was to ensure they didn't look like I had just thrown in a load of typical slabs of acoustic control panels as this also my living room and it had to be WAF approved!
Knocked this up today, it is nearly 1 metre in length by about 60cm and 5cm thick. Every panel that goes into the room certainly can be heard altering the room acoustics but I am not sure how far to go with at least 6-8 scheduled to go in. We will see or should I say hear!
