So this morning will be vinyl only and predominantly 1970's prog rock. So a fest of tracks unlikely to be heard on the radio unless you listen to Johnnie Walker Sounds of the 70's on Radio 2 Sundays at 3pm or his Rock show on Fridays at 11pm both available on BBC Sounds, sadly Johnnie is not on air at the moment whilst recovering from a heart condition but Bob Harris and Shaun Keaveny are doing a fine job standing in. The Wishbone Ash album is the only compilation album but if you have nothing of Wishbone Ash this is an excellent collection of some of their most notable work, Outward Bound being one of my favourite instrumental tracks of all time.

Roger Hodgson – In The Eye Of The Storm

Now this for me is a great album, much maligned at the time of release and not commercially successful but if you love Supertramp especially Breakfast in America and Famous Last Words then you will love this album too, Hodgson's vocals and song writing are as good as ever.

JJ Cale is just vastly underapreaciated, as is his influence on other musicians, described by Eric Clapton " as one of the most important artists in the history of rock'. Sadly missed.

Yes I would agree, I have been aware of him for a long time but only started to listen to him in this last year, please with all I've heard form him thus far.

Quite agree I picked it up for a couple of pounds in a charity shop a while back and was very pleasantly surprised how good it is, as good as some Supertramp albums, as you say.

Quite agree I picked it up for a couple of pounds in a charity shop a while back and was very pleasantly surprised how good it is, as good as some Supertramp albums, as you say.

I too have the highly regarded Hitachi FT5500mk2 Tuner, boxed up at the moment, how do you find the Wilson speakers I've never heard their speakers but have heard the turntable and arm that they started their business with.

I too have the highly regarded Hitachi FT5500mk2 Tuner, boxed up at the moment, how do you find the Wilson speakers I've never heard their speakers but have heard the turntable and arm that they started their business with.

I went through various speakers over the last 8 years, Dali Ikon 6(a big loose in the bass), Vienna Acoustic Mozart Grand SE(lovely SQ, difficult to position, rear ported), Impulse H2's(great speakers, not WAF friendly), Wison Benesch ARCs(lovely pure sound, but like a monitor), Tannoy Legacy Arden's(sounded good, not sure about mids, and not WAF friendly).

I went to the WB Vectors about 4 years ago and they are great, very pure sound and detailed, get very good bass from them considering their size, not too fussy with room placement, previously used a 300B valve amp with them but it did not do them justice. They really sing with the Krell power amp, lots of bass and controlled. I think I would only part with them for another pair of WBs up the chain or possibly a pair of Avalons, but then we are talking silly money for either (+£15K).
