Of course they pushed back but in the end they sent someone round to deliver me a proper headset. Still got the earbuds in the box, never going to use them.
I thought it was illegal to drive whilst using a personal stereo (e.g a Sony Walkman) because wearing headphones would limit, interfere and be distracting to one's hearing.

Clearly, I was wrong as yesterday I was traveling in a taxi, and the driver was wearing earbuds, using them to call the taxi centre, yet could readily hear our conversation in the back of the cab.

modern earbuds usually have anc and can be made 'transparent' for hearing other stuff. maybe why they are allowed now. i think the old ones, although perhaps not specifically illegal, the user would be done for some highway code violation.

Isn't modern technology marvelous - until it goes wrong.

Again referring to the taxi ride, I noticed that the rearview mirror was actually a TV display and was a split screen: one half showing the rear view, the second the forward view. I suppose that if the system failed, the driver would have to rely on the wing mirrors.

What a surprise, the Jaguar I-pace is not exactly known for reliability unless it has improved in recent years. Their charging rate is not great and poor on efficiency, a case of taking a car designed for petrol/diesel engine originally and Turing it into an EV, it rarely works well.

So I would say he chose the wrong car for what he wanted to do with it. A long range Tesla would have been more appropriate and also cost less, or a Polestar or Genesis would have been better.

one of the best ice conversions to ev was the kona i have. it works surprisingly well and embarrasses many dearer cars for its range etc. it does better than it says on tin too. alas its now leaving production and a newer model is coming out. it looks a bit kia in style not surprisingly lol

Tesla and Polestar are the only EVs that have good looks IMO. The 'S' looks like proper cars used to and the 'Y' is pretty cute in an 80s Jap sportscar way, reminds me of the Ford 'Probe' which as we all know was really a Mazda. Polestar 1 is a cool looking car, but the 2 - forget about it.

The rest are no worse styling than modern conventional cars i.e boring or plain ugly. Worst has to be the 'Mustang Mach E' just the ugliest car to ever bear that name and I include the 1980s versions in that.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

Not so sure, it's not terrible like the Jag, Ford and VW but then I've never been keen on Audi styling.
