Source Code, 2011. excellent film this.






The watch Colter uses to time the 8 minutes seems to be the Victorinox Swiss Army 241300 Chrono Classic XLS MT.

The pilot episode Quantum Leap: Genesis: Part 1 - September 13, 1956 (1989) of Quantum Leap features the main character played by Scott Bakula jumping into someone else's body in the past, and the episode ends with him calling and talking to his father, as he is still alive during this time. In the final scene of Source Code, when the main character similarly takes advantage of being in the past to call his father, the father is voiced by Scott Bakula.

The Day the Earth Caught Fire, 1961... Director Val Guest. Thiss i the BFI bluray as in picture. Super film this...






Towards the end, Peter (Edward Judd) is driving to Jeannie's (Janet Munro's) apartment, when he stops to talk to a policeman, who was played by Sir Michael Caine.

This movie received an "X" certificate from the British Board of Film Censors upon release, barring anyone under eighteen from seeing it.

The final spoken passage in the film is "Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to see the sun" - a quote from Ecclesiastes 11:7 in the World English Bible.

In an early scene, Jeannie (Janet Munro) is struggling with a Roneo stencil duplicator, saying it is "over-inking". The Roneo company threatened to sue the producers for the potential damage to the reputation of their products.

In his commentary track for the 2001 Anchor Bay DVD release, director Val Guest stated that the sound of church bells heard at the very end of the American version had been added by distributor Universal, in order to suggest that the emergency detonation had succeeded and that the Earth had been saved. Guest speculated that the bells motif had been inspired by The War of the Worlds (1953), which ends with the joyous ringing of church bells after the emergency (and a nuclear explosion). But Guest maintained that his intention was to always have an ambiguous ending. This copy has the bells...

Although in many ways a fantasy film, a certain amount of historical accuracy was intended. Most notably, not one horned helmet is seen in the entire movie.

At one stage Sean Connery, Alec Guinness and Bob Hoskins were announced for the cast.

Paul, 2011






For much of the filming, Seth Rogen was off filming The Green Hornet (2011), and so was unable to completely inhabit Paul's motion, and interact with the other actors. Joe Lo Truglio, who also plays O'Reilly in the film, stood in and finished what Rogen didn't complete. He studied Rogen extensively, in order to impersonate his voice, performed on his knees to capture Paul's physical presence, and even improvised in character as Paul. When filming wrapped, Rogen came in and provided the character's voice.

Juliet Mills gained 25 pounds within 6 weeks to take on the role of Pamela Piggott. (she still looked great, if a few lbs over her prime lol)

After Marcello Mastroianni had turned down the role of Carlucci, Billy Wilder tested both Nino Manfredi and Romolo Valli for the part. However, he worried that their accents would be too strong for American audiences and cast the New Zealand-born Clive Revill after the actor (whom he had recently directed in The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970)) happened to call him on the telephone. Revill had played a Russian in his earlier Wilder film and had also played an Italian quite recently in The Assassination Bureau (1969); Wilder recalled his facility for languages and his skill at accents (he had also played both an Arab and a Scot in Modesty Blaise (1966), an American in A Fine Madness (1966) and another Russian in both Fathom (1967) and The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968) in the recent past) and hired him at once.

Billy Wilder cast several non-professionals in supporting roles. Guidarino Guidi was a Rome actor's agent who called Wilder about getting jobs on the film for various clients and was instead cast as the maitre d' of the Excelsior Hotel; Raffaele Mottola was hired as the film's dialogue coach and then persuaded to play the passport official at the start of the film; and the elderly Armando Giovagnoli, playing the nonagenarian Baron, was Wilder's chauffeur on the film. The famous make-up man Harry Ray, who worked on a number of Wilder films (and was, for a time, Jack Lemmon's personal make-up man), was cast as Dr. Fleischman, the dentist on Wendell's plane - perhaps because of his close resemblance to Billy Wilder.

Back to The Future, 1985.





The rights to the film and its sequels are owned by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. In a 2015 interview, Zemeckis maintained that no reboot or remake of the film would be authorized during his or Gale's lifetime.
